Wheather your tube enters at the top of the tank or front (rear mounted 18 gal), the bottom of the tube will be very close to the bottom of the tank. Top mounted is straight down, side goes in about midway. If your picking up stuff and it's restricting the flow, your truck progressively slow way down and not have power much above idle. Best thing to do is take it off and flush the tank out.
