Since it had only a 230 L-head and if more power is not a must, a in-line 6, chrysler-nissan SD-33 diesel that was used in 70s IH scouts along with the 727 torqueflite auto tranny might do you good. I know where a running one is,sitting in a 70s scout. You need to make an offer after you research it on the web.This engine is a 3600rpm engine but only produces about the same hp as the 230 but it is a diesel and smaller than the cummins.
