Make sure you have the NP200 transfer case by looking at its bottom rear side. It should be 1:96:1. Look under the truck to see if the left shift lever's rod goes to the left shift rail and right lever rod to the right. If the levers are connected to their correct side, then someone has switched the clutch gears (left side) to the right and H/L gears to the left. To test this, pull the left lever back to the middle position that will be the neutral position. Put the transmission in low and slowly let out on the clutch. If the truck doesn't move once the clutch is out, gears are switch and you do NOT have an emergency brake because of it. I would suggest, rebuilding the transfer case to correct it.
