79 Power wagon upgrades

I'm trying to make some plans for the future of my 79 power wagon. Is there anyone out there that has a power wagon in that era with the short-box step-side? If so what kind of suspension upgrades worked well? I'm also trying to decide on a locker for the rear. I've been reading alot abt loc-right's. Are they a better application than the detroit locker? I'd also like to know what years would best to go after a Dana 60 or 70 rear, or is there any advantage to converting to a GM 14 bolt? I'm running dana 44's right know and want them swapped out before I make any plans for gears and rubber. I have so many Q's but I'll end this session here.
