west of me anyway, taking perhaps the best scenic drive in the Texas Hill Country.
Tommorrow, I am returning to take another look at a 1955 Flat Fender PW with winch.
However, the owner has added another $900 to an already pricey parts truck that I passed on the first time, about 3 years ago. That trip, I took home a beat 61 W300 for $350.00.
The good part is that I quizzed him about a D500-600 that he has also. As I spoke to him earlier today on his mobile phone, I asked him if it had a 5spd. He walked over and sat in the truck and answered yes.
So I asked what postion 5th gear was in, forward to the dash, or back to the driver.
Forward to the dash he said. Well how much do you want? $200.00. For the trans or the truck? Either. I'll take it. It should be an NP540 OD - I hope.
He also indicated that the WC62-63s they have are also for sale, as well as the Burma Fords.
I hope I can sleep tonight. Maybe a few Shiners will do the trick.
