Cliint's post about the auction with the PW school bus reminded me of when my wife and I moved here in Norhern Idaho in 1971. The school district had Power Wagon school buses and the power companies had Power Wagon utility trucks. Most of the roads outside of the main highway were former logging roads and broke up in the spring when the frost came out, seemmgly leaving them with no bottom. People drove as far as they could and left their vehicles and walked the rest of the way home. Times have changed, but I'm not sure it's for the better. I would rather have it like it was then than like it is now.
