If the 540 was behind a 318, it should bolt up. But the 318 is a 6 bolt crank and the 540 flywheel is bigger than the 143 tooth 4.7/5.7 flywheel. You would have to look at a custom flywheel. Also if your engine wasn't set up for a manual trans, you would need to use the 93 Dakota pilot bearing system and trim the input shaft.
The 69 up mechanical bell uses the common 143 tooth flywheel. But
It was made for the 23 spline input which is shorter. You would have to research that.
Only 3 of the 540 trans bolts line up the the bell housing I believe. Not sure if you could drill and tap for the fourth
There is no trans cross member pad on the 540. That was handled by the hydraulic bell.
You will probably have to grind on the mechanical bell to get it to set flush with the 540.
