This one is on the other side of the creek. I was stuck on the far creek bank directly behind the mower in this image.

The steep hill is also on the other side of the creek and starts at the creek and goes up to the white house at the top of the hill. It is at the upper left hand corner of this image. The picture is deceiving. The hill is a lot steeper than it looks here. I could drive down it, and did so regularly, but at the risk of gaining unwanted speed with the tires just sliding in the grass.

Mowing side-hill, I never had any problems with traction as long as I was not using my other truck with the locking rear differential. With that truck, and thick juicy grass, both rear tires would loose traction at the same time and the back of the truck would swing around and point downhill.

The grass and weeks in this image were about 2-inches tall before mowing. The longest it ever got was to the radiator cap one year when we had a lot of rain and the truck was broke down. I was able to mow it that high, but I started loosing power about half way through. Come to find out, the rear PTO shaft under the truck had wound itself up with grass and was about 16-inches in diameter and it was all spinning and rubbing on ever truck component nearby. The big ball of weeds was too hot to touch by hand and I had to crawl under there and chop it all away with a hatchet.

Ah, the good old days.
