I know we are essentially comparing apples to oranges here in talking about "Y-ing" two pipes into one, and then into the muffler, instead of two pipes straight into a single muffler with two inlets, or into two separate mufflers. In this image it appears the lengths of the legs in the cast iron headers are anything but the same length.
