I do not have a Wix catalog new enough to show #51010. So I had to do some research through the "back door".
The newest catalog I have is a Hastings from 1985. It shows that a Hastings #102 crosses over to the Wix #51010. And it shows that a Hastings #501 crosses to a Wix 51011, both of which I have confirmed cross over to the Deluxe JC with samples I have in hand. (These are the old ones produced before they screwed up the dimensions).
So I then looked up the Hastings #102 as it should be virtually identical to a Wix #51010 in theory. The overall dimensions are a lot smaller than a Deluxe JC - a whole .250" on the OD and 1.125" on the length. The #102 was listed as fitting the Willys, Rambler, and Continental Engine that originally required a Fram #F3 filter. It was then that I saw that the #501 and #102 had different "style" numbers assigned to them.
So it turns out that the Hastings #102 (and presumably it's cross reference Wix #51010) is a metal wrapped pleated paper cartridge. This whole time I thought the Wix #51010 was a cotton "Sock Syle" cartridge differing in size only from the #51011.
The image in the Hastings book shows what appears to be a rubber grommet on in the center of the top side. If the Wix #51010 is indeed a metal wrapped pleated paper cartridge, it has top and bottom rubber grommets that fit tight against the central supply tube in the Deluxe canister, and the bottom rubber grommet rests below the holes in the supply tube, then I can see no reason why it would not work well in the Deluxe JC canister.
