I'm having trouble with my turn signal switch pilot light (the blinky light on the switch that indicates that the turn signals or emergency flashers are on). Everything works well with the turn signals except the pilot light turns on when I turn on the ignition key and remains on until I turn the key off (not much of an indicator). I have installed two flasher units (both 550's). Each both worked well for the first dozen times or so, then the pilot light just stays on whether or not the turn signals are being used. I checked the continuity on the first flasher and found that there is a constant short between the power (X) and pilot (P) terminals. This is a rather cheap 7-wire switch without a manufacturers name. Has anyone encountered this problem, and how did you solve it?
