I thought it was just me. It seems like so many think their time is worth hundreds of dollars an hour. I don't get it. I got quotes for sandblasting in the thousands, so I bought a pressure washer and am blasting myself. I am sure using a pressure washer is taking much longer than a professional, but at some point you just throw up your hands and say, "Forget you."
I didn't trust myself to weld the rear 12 inches of frame, so I called to get quotes. One guy quoted me $2,500 for what turned out to be one and one half hours of work! What the Heck?!?! We just got a quote of $8,300 to paint out house, and we have to go with it because I am no longer willing to paint from a ladder.
