I took a ring into the cad plater here in BC & he says it’s Cad. He said they’d never use Galvanizing in a situation like that where the ring is mating into a groove just because a Galvanized finish is inconsistent enough that he figures it’s just unlikely they’d use it in that circumstance where Cad could be used & it’s not really any more expensive yet much thinner & better rust resistance.
