Yes, this is a lot cheaper than etch primer.
I said "Phospo" and should have said "Ospho"
Eastwood, others sell it. Some hardware stores have it too.
By using it, it etches the metal too, and if the piece is kept in an enclosed room it will last for a long time.
THen when ready I can spray my epoxy primer and follow with top coating. THe epoxy primer instructions say you don't have to roughen up the primer surface if you topcoat on it within 3 days. This saves time vs what you are doing now.
