It took me a few minutes to figure out how the Dualmatics work from your pictures. Man, they have a really simple design and opperation. They really kept the KISS principle in mind when they designed those. It's interesting that they tended to break the outer housing. I bet it was between holes for the rotating engagement pins and the outer edge of the housing. I looks like you had to have the engagement pin lined up with the recesses in the drive hub or they were difficult to engage as you would need to rotate the axle to get full engagement.
I am with you Marty, I like the WARN hubs. All my trucks except for my carryall and my '13 FORD have had WARN hubs.
