They copied airplanes too! B-29's come to mind. We had at least two make emergency landings in Vladivostock (sp?) during the fire raids over Japan in WWII. They imprisoned the crews and gave Tupelov the aircraft to copy nut for nut, rivet for rivet.

BTW look at the "modern" Zil's and some of their other big trucks, kinda look like Powerwagons don't they.
