Some of you may be using a popular software program for eliminating those annoying Popup ads called Popup Killer. This program was touted in yesterday's eworld column in USA TODAY.

I discovered by accident that when the Popup Killer program is active and you have MS Internet Explorer open that entering the word "warez" will cause IE to terminate.

Other than causing IE to terminate I have not determined if Popup Killer is doing any thing else that it should not be doing.

However some caution should be taken as the word "warez" is used as a group identity of hackers/crackers with little or no moral foundation or respect.

I am running virusscan 6.0 and have the latest virus signatures and it did not detect any problem with this program.

Anyway, I have deleted this program from my computer. It's a shame because the darn thing was so useful. It really did stop all of those garbage popup ads.
