No I just used sand paper to break the glaze. Unless you have a worn surface or cracks, no need to resurface, and if you have the oil pan still on, it takes a thin wrench to screw nuts on and off. If the clutch didn't shimmy when taking off during driving, I wouldn't both with re-surfing the flywheel.
