The fact that computerized engines came along decades after the flathead six is a blessing in disguise for the novice. Consider investing in a couple of the books available on the home page of this forum and a few simple tools and doing the work yourself. If the engine turns over, you're 75% there. :)
If the engine is stuck, you likely can free it up with Marvel Mystery oil in the spark plug holes and a pry bar on the flywheel. It's been done so many times. I'm sure there's a lot in the archives about the process.
