in california, all vehicles were required to have 4 way hazard flashers starting late 1966, my 67 W200 had an extra switch on the dash marked 'flasher' it matched all the stock knobs, the stock turn signals by 1967 had a two lns housing, amber to the front and red to the rear, and two lamps inside, one for turn signal, and one for the seperate 4 way flasher circuit as the 4 ways were not yet built into the factory turn signal assy like they were on the signal stat and other types available aftermarket, check out wiring diagrams for wm-300 you should see the a ciruit.in most states, it is illegal to have any red or blue lights facing forward unless it is an authorized vehicle, in Nevada you actually need a permit for amber warning lights like a beacon on a wrecker!
