Nitro cellulose will melt into previous coats.Easiest finish to work with. The dining set I posted was a water born poly. Tough as nails,but pita. The water kept raising the grain of the Zebra wood. Sand it down, spray on another coat, grain raised again. I'm in California, smog laws...
