Ok, I will go with 600, but why down to the metal? Isn't a layer of primer necessary for the paint to adhere to? Do I apply another guide coat before I sand with the 600? BTW, I won't be able to get to any of this until next Wednesday. We are leaving for a long weekend tomorrow.
