o.k I feel real stupid right now but I found the problem. I had the front axle locked in, and had both levers all the way forward which locked in the front axle. It was in high range but the front axle was engaged. Pulled the back lever to the first detent and problem solved. 35 mph according to the speedo without any problems. and I read the dash tag wrong, it was not 36 but 46 top speed so I must have the lower gears in this truck. As for the tires they are 235/85/16 which are about 3 inches shorter than the originals. So thank you all for the tips
