True. But I like removing them in order to give me more room to work at lifting off the hood and removing the fan blades and radiator hoses.
Also I have found that for me it is easier to realign parts at assembly if the fenders were unbolted from the front fender-to-radiator support brackets and removed with the brackets remaining attached to the radiator support. With these brackets still attached, lifting off the radiator, cowl, and support assembly requires the fenders to be out of the way.
I used to leave the brackets attached to each fender. But, bolting these assemblies back onto the truck often resulted in the two bolts on each side of the radiator support wanting to cross-thread unless everything was aligned perfectly.
