As Vaughn said, angle iron is stock. But the way it is bolted together in your image is NOT correct. The angle shown bolts to the bracket on the frame. The fender pictured is on the WRONG side of that angle and not bolted correctly. The hat channel shown in Vaughn's post gets riveted to the OTHER side of the fender and this channel sits down in the shown angle.
