high pitch squeal

I have a 1954 dodge power wagon.
over the winter (It has been very cold here) I had started it up a couple of times and after 3-4 min a high pitch squeal (steam) comes from the bottom left of the radiator. Well recently I had it towed to have it looked at, and he had it running for over 1.5 hr and was driving it around and not a peep. Anyone have any idea what's going on?
