I got a California title with a bill of sale, somewhat.
I am led to believe Ca is tougher than most States, but what hoops I had to go thru weren’t too bad.
Had to get a certified weight tag at a truck scale.
Had to have a California Highway Patrol inspection/verification of serial number match and clearance of their “hot” (stolen) database and sign off.
Took the above documents and the Bill of Sale to DMV and with money to pay the fees I have a legal Title.
Not too bad.
