John, I have always mounted the cab before installing the bed. There is lots to do with the cab once is sits on the frame. I always pre-fit the front sheet metal prior to securing the cab to the frame mounts. I have built a movable wooden frame assembly mounted on small rubber dolly wheels to aid in moving the cab around the shop prior to any mounting. I like to work from the floor level when reassembling all the cab parts—gauges, headliner, windshield etc. It is much easier to position yourself in the opening in the floor where your shift levers are located when installing the firewall pad followed by the heater and working under the dash is not so back breaking. I’m sure everyone has their own routine but after 45 years doing restoration’s—-this works for me. Just my thoughts—. Bill
