I agree with you Tom.

On the flip side of that, I'll bet you have experienced something like the following.

I go into a parts store to purchase a core plug with a diameter of 3-1/4 inches. This basically serves as a hub cap to retain the grease on the depth wheel hubs on my Newgren plow that I show behind my Power-Wagon.

The conversation goes something like this:

Me - "I need a 3-1/4 inch diameter core plug."

Young individual with no apparent gender behind the computer - "What year and make?"

Me - "It doesn't matter".

Young individual with no apparent gender behind the computer - "I need a year and make to enter in the computer."

Me - "Okay, 1949 Newgren."

Young individual with no apparent gender behind the computer - "Uhh, our compute does not go back that far."

Me- "Okay, 2001 Chrysler."

Young individual with no apparent gender behind the computer - "Does that have air?"

Me - "No."

Young individual with no apparent gender behind the computer - "How about model of car and engine size?"

Me - "It is for a farm plow. I gave you all the information you need."

Young individual with no apparent gender behind the computer - "What is a farm plow?"

This is when I turn around, walk out the door, go home, look up the specs from the manufacturer of core plugs, get the part number, go to NAPA or CarQuest, and walk out with the part in hand.
