I will take my wife’s car to a local oil change place. When I give them the car I clearly state oil and filter only and nothing more. A bit later the guy walks up to me with the air filter and cabin filter saying I need to replace them. I responded, I did not authorize you to remove those I specifically said oil and filter only, what didn’t you understand? The air filter did need to be replaced, but not at 3x the price and certainty not since I told them exactly what I wanted done.
