I had a 6.2 in my old GMC van and it got really good MPG but that was about it. Vibrated your teeth out at idle. It seemed to pack a good grunt from a dead stop. You could spin the tires on the van but after the grunt it was done. No power to speak of. The 6.2 would be a killer hiway engine if you didnt have a load. As for durability I guess mine did a good job. It had 180000 miles on it when I traded it in.It was an old delivery van for the place I worked at and was used and abused. I bought it for 150$ and drove it for 5 years before trading it in. The glow plug controller went out and there was some other small module I cannot remember the name that went out. Seemed like it was always a module going out of it. Any thing like that and it left you stranded. No start or nothing freaky things would then happen like the head lights coming on when you tried to start it. It started to have a problem running hot and I got a new job so I traded it in.

The coolest thing about the 6.2 was the freight train like smoke it would bellow when clear to the floor. I had lots of fun smoking people on the road! ;)
