Yes there was. I have seen pictures of one. The radio mounted under the dash on the drivers side. The controls for the radio mounted under the lower lip of the dash. Yes the radio and controls were mounted seperate from each other. I am not sure but the pictures may have been in the PWA in the early 90's or late 80's
