Not ideal. However, if they are in 4x4 in slippery conditions or on loose dirt they probably would not notice it. There would not be too much pressure build up between front and rear if the tires are slipping and sliding and breaking loose. I would not do it if I were on hard packed or paved surfaces. The pressure build up would cause a failure someplace and who knows how it would affect steering and stability.
Bottom line: Not recommended.
