Kevin, in the PIF, transmission group, look for the comparison between the early M37 Model 88950, Late M37 Model 4201, Civilian/M601 model NP420. In short, yes the NP420 cover interchanges only with the NP420 models, M37, Civilian/M601. The shift lever will need to be changed switching between models if desired.
