Dodge Rams and other Chrysler vehicles have what is know as a TIPM Module. Its under the hood, its the main fuse/relay box. But there is a lot more than just fuses and relays.

My 03 Ram developed a problem of the running lights turning on all by them selves, sometimes entire gauge panel was black, sometimes power windows would not work and sometimes my doors would lock all by themselves. I could not figure the problem. Took it to the Dodge dealer. With some tests they proved it was the TIPM Module (Total Integrated Power Module). Changing the module, fixed all the problems. The TIPM new is EXPENSIVE. From Memory, it was close to $500.00. Now forward to current days, many companies on the web will now rebuild and guarantee for such less.

Here is a quote from one company;
"A Faulty TIPM can feel like your car is possessed and has a mind of it’s own. Symptoms can include starter not engaging. Hard start (will take a few times to finally start), engine stalling. Horn or wind-shield wipers not working or turning on by themselves, power windows won’t work, or doors lock or unlock themselves, fuel gauge speedometer and other gauges not working. AC compressor won’t turn on, transmission stuck in limp mode, and more… "

Now days there is a lot of information for us doing our own testing at home and possible repair. Search Tube for your Vehicle/year and TIPM. The TIPM is the Gateway/Distribution box for nearly ALL the entire electrical system.

I don't have any personal help I can give. Back when mine failed there was little to no help on the web to trouble shoot and prove the TIPM was bad, let alone fix. I took mine to the Dodge Dealer.

Good Luck
Paul
