The early and late M37 both had the same bolt pattern at the bellhousing (same as PW up to 56) and both were synchro.
The late M37 has the same internal gears as the PW NP420, hence the reason they also call it
an NP420. The early M37 gears won't fit in the late case, they are different.
The stick is different on the PW NP420. The 2 M37 use the stub shifter on the top but I
believe the NP420 tops are both the same.
