Hey guys after reading everything I can find and asking for comments from others all I have gotten are many conflicting answers and now I am the who is confused!
I put a new clutch and TO bearing in my truck and cannot get a definitive answer on the TO bearing return spring. Right now I have the TO bearing with the tab with the hole in it at the 12:00 position on the transmission sleeve sitting in the fork, is this the correct position for the TO bearing to sit? I know the TO bearing spring hooks to the bolt that sticks down from the top of the bell housing through the holes in the end of that bolt right? How far should this bolt be sticking down inside the bell housing? once your tell me in what position the TO bearing should be sitting in the forks does the spring then connect to that tab with the hole in it on the TO bearing, or does it connect to something else to pull the TO bearing forward?
Sorry to be asking such abvious to some question but I apparently far to much research on this and have now come full circle getting me no where!! Please give me your thought on this one.
Thanks much
Karl
