When I found the 230 engine for my Power Wagon, I figured I would get a second one the gentleman near Grants Pass Oregon had since it was a 1000 mi round trip. The engine I rebuilt for my truck was a T285. He said the second engine should run (have you ever heard that before?)It was a Dodge D34 and the cam and crank journals and bearings looked pretty good and platigauged were in spec. I had the machine shop fix a couple pitted valve seats and used grinding compound on all as well as resurfacing the head, new bearings and rings.

I want to start it up soon and will try the hand crank. I am anticipating my 67 year old shoulders may have problems with this. I need a flywheel. Doesn't have to be great as far as clutch surface goes, just something the starter can engage. Hoping one of the Holister Rally guys has one laying around. I will pick up and return if needed or buy. Bell housing picked up from DC Truck Parts with free Patina We had our shots and anxious to RV somewhere in the coming weeks.
