I never met Bob in person, but I talked with him many times on the phone. I would sometimes send him differential cases that needed Detroit style lockers installed. His work was always top notch.
I spoke with him a couple weeks ago about a differential my son and I were working on. It had been a year since our last conversation -
Me: "Hi Bob, this is Greg Co..."
Bob: "Well hello Greg, how are you doing?!"
The beginning of another 45+ minute conversation about life and Power Wagons.
He mentioned to me as well that he felt like he was beginning to slow down. I wish I'd spent a little more time on the phone with him. He was a fountain of good will and knowledge.
Given the nature of the first report I called Bob's phone, hoping he would pick up. I left him a message anyway.
Someone mentioned that we had lost a Power Wagon brother. I think we lost a Power Wagon father.
