I bought a 1946 WDX that had been brutally mistreated and had about 8 coats of paint, all of which were showing through in one place or another. Due to the numerous dents and damage, and the paint, I ended up with a new paint job. I took advice to do a clear coat over a base coat, which I would not do again. I am tired of the shine. I would much rather have a truck with a cool looking patina than a shiny new paint job.
