Keep in mind, in order to use the inverter, she will have to unplug the opener from house current and plug it into the inverter. Or, have it wired in permanently with a switching system, either auto or manual. The battery will need to be permanently connected to a charging system to maintain constant charge.
Or, show her how to pull the release string on the opener to open the door manually.
