California is a big state with lots of climates.

Besides gas going bad, the biggest issue is condensation in the tank. A non vented cap will help but moisture will get in there. Gas srabilzer will help but I would use a product will mix the gas with the water when I start driving it again.

Remember you will get condensation in the engine, differentials, tranny and etc. you can get lots of water in your oil pan by condensation. Quite a bit of the water people find in vehicles that have been sitting for long periods is from condensation. Change all the fluids if it has sat for a long time.
