It'll keep for a long time, adding some gas stabilizer will help. If you can, drive it a couple times a month to keep things lubricated, but keep the tank full to prevent water accumulation in the tank. Once the exhaust starts that old gas smell completely switch the gas by a long drive or more frequent driving. No need to change the filter often. If the truck is not drive-able, drain the tank, and seal the gas filler pipe using a zip-lock bag and zip tie to keep out moisture.
