if the LA is bolted up its a later poly bell. poly and hemi shared the same pattern till 61 then poly changed to same as what became LA pattern. The only difference between early and late poly/la is the lowest holes left and right are different. you could redrill for the early pattern in most cases.
you would need the 8 bolt flywheel though. LA and 62 to 67 poly don't have 8 bolt except may in larger trucks
