I liked the sockets Edd China used in Wheeler Dealers. They were necked down at the driven end so they were more compact. Edd said he wanted to use tools on camera that an amateur mechanic could afford.
I still use the Craftsman set I got during high school for my first job. Over 55 years I've only broken one thin wall socket, which I abused.
