- I can't tell for sure, but dark areas on the 3 & 2 exhaust manifold port areas each side of the carb. could indicate exhaust leaks, manifold may need tightening or gasket replaced.

- The fuel line insulation is too loose, you need to use installation that is tightly wrapped around the line and secured by heat resistant tape. The current wrapping creates a heat sink (accumulates heat) by being loose. Wrap the fuel filter as well.

- The fuel line goes directly over the exhaust manifold and is close, this also creates a heat sink.

- I can't tell with the wrapping on the line, but it looks like it is elevated or higher in the curve than where it goes into the carb., if it is, that's a vapor accumulation point.

- You might want to consider re-routing the line as in the link to the image. It gets it away from most of the exhaust heat as well as cools the line from the fan air. The upward slope also prevents the vapor point.

- I would relocate the fuel filter to a more vertical or horizontal position, where it's placed could create a heat sink, just enough angle in its present location.

That's about all I see that could be adding to your problem.
