Got a request from our local aviation museum asking if I could bring my Command Car to a special benefit photo shoot. What a great reason to make time to get my WC6 back into "drive and show" condition.
Drained the gas tank, changed the oil, checked the radiator (took 5 qts.), new HD 6 volt battery. Pulled all plugs (checked out okay). Hand cranked the engine to make sure it wasn't seized. Turned easily and readily. Great to be able to coat the cylinder walls with oil in advance. With a trusted helper who helped apply liberal doses of fresh gas or Berkebile B-101 2+2 Gum Cutter Carburetor Carb Cleaner (can't say enough good for this product. Also cleans my chainsaws better than anything else tried to date).
Finally, the old girl coughed and settled down, running smooth. Here's what I need to bring her up to spec:
1. Good condition McCreary 7.50 x 16 LT NDT tire. If not available, who currently makes the best quality tires and where to buy.
2. Oil filter for stock 218
I know I'm forgetting something(s), will post as they come to mind. Thank you all in advance for any help.
