The jump box will work.
Don't worry about the POS ground.
Always put pos to pos, neg to neg no matter where the wires go.
The electric gauge could be damaged and best disconnected as he mentioned.
Remove the pack as soon as possible.
Great to have a buddy with you, but you know, it probably won't act up when you have help.
