With the ignition switch on, check the wire from the coil to the distributor terminal to see if there is power. If so, then you have grounded the points and condenser. Make sure the points tension arm and condenser wire is between the fiber washer and stud head.
If no power, check wire from ignition switch to coil at the coil for power, if no power, check the wire from the ammeter to the ignition switch for power, if no power, check wire from starter switch to ammeter for power, if no power at any of these points, you may have a bad wire between points.
