Clint:

My early 51 PW has all original gauges except for the Heat gauge. It was replaced with a black faced one with numbers on it. That would make it a 1954 to 1956 gauge, if I am correct, as it has the tube to the engine block (pre electrical gauge).

I was thinking of replacing mine with the correct blue gray one. I found a couple, but they are priced like gold. I have not yet found one with the exact part number from the parts book. My question to you is did the original have just C/H on the face or did it have actual numbers. I have seen pictures of trucks with both versions even on this site. Which is correct? I have seen a couple of gauge clusters from pilot house trucks with the correct color for much cheaper than the heat gauge. The tubes have been cut, which is fine, as I would use the gauge face plate on my current gauge. Or maybe someone around here has the face plate I need.
